About the circuit

Croft Circuit is a British racing circuit near the village of Dalton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, about 10 km south of Darlington. It was built on the grounds of the former RAF Croft airfield, used during the Second World War for bomber operations. The first official races were held in 1964; the circuit closed in 1981 and reopened in 1995, with the current main layout dating from 1997. The 3,423 m track has 16 corners, blending fast sections, technical passages and tight bends. The circuit is FIA Grade 3 homologated and has been owned since 2006 by the British Automobile Racing Club. Its headline event is the annual round of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), alongside British Rallycross.
