FOR DRIVERS

Questions about your account, history, and using the driver app.

Is Lapvio free for drivers?

Yes. There's no premium tier, no paid features, no upgrade prompts today. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core experience (profiles, history, circuit map, event discovery, social features) will stay free.

Do I need a Lapvio account to attend an event run on Lapvio?

No. If your organizer runs their events on Lapvio, they'll send you a personal link to register, sign your waiver, and complete the safety briefing. That link is all you need for the event itself. If you do create a Lapvio account using the same email address, your verified event history starts populating automatically. Every event run on Lapvio shows up on your profile.

How do I sign up?

Go to lapvio.com and click "Claim your profile" or "Sign up." Enter your email, you'll receive a six-digit code, enter the code, and you're in. No password needed. The first time you sign up you'll pick a username and (optionally) add an avatar and bio. The whole flow takes about a minute.

Is there a Lapvio app?

Yes. The Lapvio app is free for drivers, on Google Play now, with iOS coming soon. It carries your full track record: history, garage, the circuits map, lap times with racing lines, and the feed. It's the same account as the web; sign in with the same email code and everything is already there.

How does the app get updates?

Two ways. Bigger releases come through the store like any app. Smaller improvements arrive as over-the-air updates: they download in the background and apply the next time you open the app, no store visit needed. If your installed version ever becomes too old to work with the platform, the app will ask you to update from the store.

Why does the app ask to send notifications?

Push notifications are how "follow a circuit, get a push when a trackday drops" works, and how you hear about reactions and comments on your posts. You can say no; everything else keeps working. You can change your mind anytime in your phone's system settings.

Does the app collect analytics, and can I turn that off?

The app collects anonymous usage analytics and crash reports so we can find and fix problems. Everything is hosted in the EU and never sold. You can switch analytics off in the app under You, then Settings, in the Analytics section.

Which lap timer files can I import?

Files from RaceChrono, RaceBox, and Harry's LapTimer, plus generic VBO and GPX exports. Import the file and you get your laps, your personal best, and your racing line drawn on the circuit. Import works in the app and on the web dashboard.

Are imported lap times verified?

Lap times from official event timing appear as verified. Times you import from your own lap timer are personal records: they show on your sessions and your profile, but they don't carry the verified badge. Both count toward your track record.

What are the story reels in the app?

Short, story-style updates from Lapvio: new features, community highlights, and launch news. They appear at the top of the app now and then; watch them once and they're gone from your way.

Who can see what I post in the feed?

Posts in the feed are visible to Lapvio users; reactions and comments are visible alongside them. The feed is separate from your profile privacy: your history, garage, map and lap times keep their own per-section visibility settings. You can report any post or comment, and block accounts you don't want to interact with.

Can I delete my account from the app?

Yes. In the app go to You, then Settings, then Delete account. It's the same process as on the web: your account is anonymized within thirty days.

I got an email saying I have a profile already. What is that?

If you've attended a trackday with an organizer using Lapvio, your name and email are already on the platform. We created a placeholder profile for you when the organizer registered you for the event. The profile is unclaimed: nobody can see it, nothing's public, and you don't have an account yet. The email invites you to claim the profile, pick a username, and unlock the public-facing version. Once you claim it, your trackday history is already there waiting for you.

Who am I actually buying from when I pay through Lapvio?

When you buy a trackday ticket, you're buying from the organizer running the event. When you book a coaching session or buy instructional content, you're buying from the coach. Lapvio is the booking and payment infrastructure, not the seller. Your contract is with the organizer or coach directly, and it's their refund policy, their VAT registration, their customer relationship.

Why does my receipt come from the organizer or coach instead of Lapvio?

Because they're the seller. Lapvio processes the payment on their behalf using Stripe Connect, but the legal seller of the ticket, session, or content is them. Their business name appears on your card statement, their tax ID is on the receipt, and any refund or invoice question goes to them.

I just paid for a trackday ticket. What happens next?

You'll receive two emails within a few minutes. The first is a payment receipt from the organizer (sent via Stripe). The second is an event confirmation from Lapvio with a personal link to register, sign your waiver, and complete the safety briefing. If you have a Lapvio account, the event will also appear in your dashboard. If you don't see either email within fifteen minutes, check your spam folder, then contact the organizer directly.

I just bought a coaching session. What happens next?

You'll receive a payment receipt from the coach (via Stripe) and a booking confirmation from Lapvio with the session details. Depending on how the coach has set up their availability, you'll either pick a specific time slot from their calendar or the coach will reach out within forty-eight hours to schedule. If you don't hear anything within forty-eight hours and there's no clear time slot in your dashboard, message the coach through Lapvio or email us.

I bought instructional content from a coach. How do I access it?

Once payment confirms, the content unlocks immediately in your dashboard under "My coaching content." It stays there permanently. You don't lose access if you stop using Lapvio. Most content is streamable; some coaches also allow downloads. By accessing the content, you waive your fourteen-day right to withdraw under EU consumer law (this is shown at checkout). If you haven't accessed it yet and want a refund, contact the coach.

I want to cancel and get a refund. How does that work?

Refund policies are set by the seller, not by Lapvio.

For a trackday ticket, contact the organizer. Their refund policy is shown at checkout and on their event page.

For a coaching session, contact the coach. Their cancellation policy is on their profile.

For instructional content, once you've started accessing it, your fourteen-day withdrawal right is waived (you confirmed this at checkout). If you haven't accessed it yet, contact the coach for a refund.

If a seller is unresponsive after a reasonable attempt, email us at info@lapvio.com and we'll help.

Can I get a VAT invoice for a corporate purchase?

Yes. The receipt comes from the seller (organizer or coach) and includes their VAT registration where applicable. If you need a specific invoice format for accounting, ask the seller directly. They're the entity you'd reclaim VAT against.

What does "verified" mean and why does it matter?

A verified event is one that was run through Lapvio Pro by an organizer. It came from real registration data, real check-in, real attendance. A manually entered event is one a driver added themselves, for organizers or events not on Lapvio. Both appear on your profile, but verified events carry a small badge that indicates they're confirmed. The distinction matters for credibility, for future leaderboards, and for trust between drivers in the community.

Can I track trackdays from organizers not on Lapvio?

Yes. From your dashboard, click "Log a trackday" and enter the date, circuit, car, and any notes. The entry appears on your profile and counts toward your circuit map. Manual entries don't get the verified badge, but they make Lapvio useful for your full trackday history, not just the events on Lapvio.

I have history with several organizers using different emails. How do I merge them?

Lapvio supports linked emails. Go to your account settings, click "Linked emails," and add each address you've used with a different organizer. We'll send a verification code to that address; once you confirm, any history associated with that email gets merged into your single Lapvio profile. This works for as many email addresses as you've used.

An event in my history is wrong. How do I fix it?

Verified events come from the organizer's data, so the organizer is the right place to fix them. Contact them and they can correct the registration, which will sync back to your profile. If the organizer is unresponsive, email us and we'll help. For manually entered events, you can edit or delete them directly from your profile.

Can I delete an event from my history?

For manually entered events, yes. You can delete or hide them anytime from your profile. For verified events, the data belongs to the organizer (it's their event record), so deletion has to go through them. You can hide a verified event from your public profile without affecting the organizer's record.

Can I make my profile private?

Yes. Privacy is per-section: history, garage, circuit map, lap times, and follower list each have independent visibility settings (public, followers only, or private). The defaults are public for most things and private for lap times. You can change any of these from your profile settings, anytime.

Who can see my profile by default?

Your profile is public by default. Anyone with the link to lapvio.com/drivers/[your-username] can see your trackday history, circuit map, garage, and achievements. Lap times are private by default. You can change any of this in privacy settings, including making your entire profile private and accessible only to you.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

You can delete your account from settings at any time. When you do, your account is anonymized within thirty days: your username is freed, your avatar and bio are deleted, and your manually entered events are removed. Verified events from organizers stay in the organizer's records (it's their event data), but they're no longer connected to a public profile of yours. Linked emails are unlinked. We retain certain records (signed waivers, payment receipts) where required by law.

Do I need a license to attend a trackday?

That depends on the organizer and the circuit, not on Lapvio. Most trackdays require a valid road driving license; some specific events or circuits have additional requirements (helmet certification, competition license, etc.). The organizer's event page lists what's required. Lapvio doesn't impose any licensing requirements of its own.

Can I book a coach independently of an event?

Yes. There are two ways to work with a coach on Lapvio. You can add a coaching session at checkout when you buy a ticket for an organizer's event. The coach joins you for that event. You can also book a coach independently for any trackday, including events not on Lapvio. The coach decides which formats they offer.

My organizer doesn't use Lapvio. Can I still log my events?

Yes. Manual entry works for any trackday at any organizer in the world. Just enter the date, circuit, and car. The entry won't be verified, but it counts toward your profile, your circuit map, and your trackday history. If your organizer eventually joins Lapvio, future events with them will be verified automatically.
