About the circuit
Circuit Zandvoort, officially Mascot Circuit Zandvoort (since 2025), is a racing circuit in the Netherlands set in the dunes by the North Sea, about 35 km west of Amsterdam. Racing began here in 1948 on a layout partly built on communications roads dating from World War II. The 4,259 m track has 14 corners and 8.9 m of elevation change, run in a clockwise direction. It hosted the Dutch F1 Grand Prix from 1952 to 1985 and returned to the F1 calendar in 2021 following an extensive modernisation. The renovation added two steeply banked corners — Hugenholtzbocht (Turn 3, 19° banking) and Arie Luyendijkbocht (Turn 14, 18° banking) — now among the most distinctive features of the circuit. The track is FIA Grade 1 homologated.
Two heavily banked corners — Hugenholtzbocht (19°) and the famous final Arie Luyendijkbocht (18°) — unique among modern F1 circuits; an old-school dune circuit feel preserved within a modern Grade 1 layout.
