The Salzburgring is an Austrian racing circuit near the village of Plainfeld, about 13 km east of Salzburg, built in the Alpine foothills in a valley of the Salzkammergut range. The track was opened in September 1969 and now measures 4,241 m, is 12–22 m wide and has 12 corners (6 right, 6 left). The main straight is 750 m long; the elevation change is approximately 22 m between the lowest (648.3 m a.s.l.) and highest (670.6 m a.s.l.) points. Maximum incline is 3.8%, maximum decline 1.8%. The circuit is renowned for its picturesque valley setting with natural hillsides forming grandstands. It is FIA Grade 3 homologated and has hosted the Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix (1971–1994), the FIA WTCC Race of Austria (2012–2014), TCR International, ETCC and others. Noise limit for track days is 98 dB.
