Autodromo Internacional do Algarve / Portimao

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, commonly known as the Portimão Circuit, is a racing track in southern Portugal near the city of Portimão in the Algarve region. Designed by architect Ricardo Pina, built in just seven months and opened in October 2008 at a total cost of €195 million, the 4,653 m circuit features 15 corners (9 right, 6 left), a width of 14–18 m, and 24 m of elevation difference between its lowest and highest points. The track is FIA Grade 1 and FIM homologated, and has hosted the Portuguese F1 Grand Prix (2020, 2021), MotoGP, FIA WEC, WSBK and many other series. The complex also includes a karting circuit, off-road track, technology park and a five-star hotel overlooking the track.

Roller-coaster elevation changes with blind crests and an undulating layout; the circuit is often compared to legendary tracks such as the Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps.
