You can sell trackday tickets directly on Lapvio while staying on the FREE plan. Drivers pay by card on your event page, the money lands in your own Stripe account, and Lapvio takes a fee per ticket sold. No monthly cost. If you sell nothing, you pay nothing.
Setting it up is three things: connect Stripe, answer one VAT question, add tickets.
1. Connect Stripe
Open Payments. Payouts run through Stripe, so that connection comes first. You choose between two account types, and this choice is hard to reverse, so read both.
| Quick setup (Express) | Full Stripe account (Standard) | |
|---|---|---|
| Onboarding | About 5 minutes | About 15 to 25 minutes |
| Receipts | Emailed to drivers automatically | Stripe-issued, VAT-compliant invoices |
| VAT | No automatic calculation | Full Stripe Tax per booking, with VAT-ID validation |
| Payouts | Held until 48 hours after the event | On your own Stripe schedule |
| Dashboard | Limited | Your own full Stripe dashboard |
Which one
Not VAT-registered, and you want to sell today? Quick setup. VAT-registered and required to issue proper invoices? Full Stripe account, because on Express you would have to issue every invoice by hand. Switching later means re-onboarding from scratch.
Already selling elsewhere with Stripe? Use the option to connect your existing account instead. You sign in at Stripe and approve the connection, and nothing about your current setup changes.

2. One VAT question
Once Stripe is connected, Payments asks one required question: is your organisation registered for VAT?
- Not a VAT payer. The prices you type are final. Drivers pay exactly that.
- VAT payer. You enter your rate and VAT ID, and from then on you type net prices. Drivers always see and pay the price including VAT, and every price field shows the amount drivers actually pay right next to it.
You answer once. The details stay editable on the Payments page.
3. Add tickets to an event
Create the event first (see Create a trackday), then open it and go to the Sell and price section.
- Choose On Lapvio under "How do drivers book?".
- Add at least one ticket with Add ticket: a name (per language), a price and a currency.
- Save.

Without at least one ticket, drivers have nothing to book, so the card warns you until you add one.
The public event page now shows Lapvio checkout instead of your booking link. Switch back to Somewhere else any time and your own link returns.
Optional: add-ons
Once selling is on, the Extras and cancellation section lets you sell more than a ticket. A covered garage box, lunch, a photographer, an instructor session. Drivers pay for them in the same checkout, in one payment. Add-ons sell in the same currency as your tickets; if you change the event's currency later, any add-on still in the old currency is flagged so you can re-price it.
PRO saves your add-ons to a catalog you reuse across every event, instead of rebuilding the same four extras each time.
What it costs
- Lapvio takes a percentage per ticket sold. Your exact rate is shown on the Payments page, alongside the PRO rate so you can compare.
- Stripe takes its normal payment-processing fee on top, as with any card payment.
- There is no monthly fee and no minimum.
The money is yours the whole time
Payments go into your own Stripe account, not into a Lapvio balance. Lapvio takes its fee as a fee on the transaction. Payouts to your bank follow Stripe, and you can open your Stripe dashboard from the Payments page at any time.
Turning selling on does more than take payments. See What selling unlocks.
