About the circuit
The Pannónia-Ring is a Hungarian racing circuit near the village of Ostffyasszonyfa in western Hungary, about 200 km from Budapest and close to the Austrian border. The track was opened in 1997 and was originally designed primarily for motorcycle racing. It measures 4,740 m with 18 corners (11 right, 7 left) and a width of 11–13 m. The start-finish straight is 700 m long, and top speeds reach 260 km/h. The circuit is among the safest in Europe thanks to its wide run-off areas. Until 2014 it could be run in both directions, but after kerbs were installed it has been used clockwise only. The track is used mainly for testing (notably by Ducati), track days, rider training and regional racing, including the FIM Sidecar World Championship since 2017.
