About the circuit

Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is a German racing circuit in the town of Oschersleben (Bode) in the Börde district of Saxony-Anhalt, about 30 km south-west of Magdeburg. The track was opened on 25 July 1997 as Motopark Oschersleben and became the first permanent racing circuit in the former East Germany, as well as Germany's fourth permanent track (after the Nürburgring, Hockenheimring and Sachsenring). In 2005 it was renamed Motorsport Arena Oschersleben following a financial restructuring. The main circuit measures 3,696 m (for the car configuration) or 3,667 m (for the motorcycle configuration), is 11–13 m wide and features 23 m of elevation change. The track has 14 corners (7 right, 7 left) and a 700 m start straight that allows speeds above 280 km/h. The circuit holds FIA Grade 2 homologation, with grandstands positioned 6–8 m above the track giving it its signature "arena" character. It hosted the FIA ETCC (2001–2004) and FIA WTCC (2005–2011) and hosts the DTM, ADAC GT Masters, IDM Superbikes and others.

Grandstands positioned 6–8 m above the track, giving a panoramic view of most of the circuit (its trademark "arena" character); the first permanent racing circuit in the former East Germany.
